A John Deere Wedding
As you know, I'm a member of the design team for the (Paper Trail). Here's the info on this week's challenge:
"This week's challenge is a celebration of school days! Here at TrailMakers we want to see your school layouts - these can be first day of school pics, school events, or even those school pictures that you always have to pay for BEFORE you get to see them! You have until Saturday, September 25th at 5pm EST to submit your school themed layouts to" the (Paper) Trail challenge blog.
The last challenge was to use 4 - 7 photos on one page. I took the opportunity to design this layout:

This wedding was John Deere themed - and it was so pretty! The bride carried yellow tulips and the groomsmen wore green shirts with John Deere ties. Very cute - but I couldn't decide what papers to use. As I spread some papers out on my work table, the yellow doily overlapped the gorgeous Basic Grey Capella papers and I thought - perfect! I'm always hesitant to use papers from different lines together but the beauty of the Capella paper combined with the color of the Little Yellow Bicycle doily were a perfect compliment to the elegance of the wedding combined with the fun of the theme.
This wedding was at a little country church just down the road from where I live, that I have always liked. It was storming horribly that day and just before the ceremony started, I snapped this picture of the stained glass window blurry with rain. I wanted to frame the picture and needed a spot for my journaling, so I journaled the frame. The doily is accented with some leftover fuzzy green ribbon and some Prima flowers, and a few Basic Grey Capella buttons. The right side of the Capella paper was darkened using some Terra Cotta ink, and the green butterfly ribbon was from my stash.
The "i" accent is the couple's last initial. This is an easy way to make a personal accent. I used a bottle cap, which I flattened in my Cuttlebug. I used a gold paint pen to color the center of the bottle cap, leaving the outer edge natural to create a frame, then used a sticker after the paint was dry. It is adhered to the page with a pop dot.
I'm always looking for fun accents to make using "found" items - let me know what you've tried!
