Artist's Date . . . Ahhhhhh
I treated myself to an Artist's Date yesterday. First I have been on in ages. And, I must say, the whole day was good. My day started with a cup of cappachino and the Today Show, then work went well. I dealt with a difficult client situation - successfully, I think. Took off work early and spent the afternoon in the state capital. Wait - is that capital or capitol? I never can remember . . . anyway, had lunch with an old friend who I recently reconnected with (and it's been great - like no time has passed . . . instead of 20+ years!), then spent a couple of hours browsing the state archives doing genealogy research. On my way out of town, I stopped to see my friend, Lynn. By the way -she turned me onto a great book - The Doctor's Wife. If you enjoy a psychological thriller, check it out. It was a great read, and I never would have picked it up on my own, so Thanks, Lynn!! (it looked way too much like a literary novel, which is NOT my favorite genre). It was so nice to have the afternoon to myself. There is something so decadent about doing your own thing during regular work hours. I fully intend to do the same thing later this month. My boss is overseas for three weeks, and told me I can take off while he's gone whenever I want. I haven't had an artist's date in ages, so I will spoil myself by doing it twice in one month! Woo-hoo!
And for those of you who think it's wierd that I spent a warm summer afternoon in the archives . . . it was research, I was alone, and it was great! :o)
What have you done by yourself lately? Plan an artist's date. And go on it!
Have fun,
Elle
