Always behind . . .
As usual, there is way too much to
do and not enough time to do it. As some of you know, this is BIW week,
so I have been trying hard to write at least 3 pages of new writing a
day. I'm still not writing as much as I would like, but I knew this
would be a tough week. And tonight I am taking some "me time". Leaving
the kiddo home with Dad and I am going to an adult-only crop at my
favorite scrapbook store. Maybe I'll finally get those vacation 2004
pictures scrapped!
I have been taking my lunch hours to read and destress this week, and finished James Patterson's 4th of July. I enjoyed it thoroughly, though would have liked to have seen a little more fleshing out of some of the plot. I pretty much knew who the bad guy would be, fairly early on. And I wasn't very fond of the immediate intimacy between the lead and another female character. I doubt that most of us are that trusting that quickly. There was an undercurrent of seediness that I wish had been explored a bit more. In fact, the book sparked an idea for a story that I may work on next BIW.
I am excited to report that a segment featuring . . . me!!!! . . . aired on the local NBC affiliate this week. I was way nervous, as will be obvious when you see the spot I'm talking about. Check it out!
My word for the month is "Express" . . . as in find ways to express the real you. How do you express yourself creatively?
Happy reading (and writing!).
