Happy New Year!!
2005 is but a memory, and 2006 stretches before me like a blank page. I love starting a new year. It's like starting a new journal - full of promise. I have my little traditions that I enjoy each New Year's - I transfer important dates over to my new Schnauzer calendar, put my Flylady stickers on for the month, and, my favorite part of starting a New Year, I insert the new "guts" into my DayPlanner. Which gives me a chance to take a good hard look at my goals. This year, I am also looking back at 2005. My writing self has accomplished a lot this year. I completed my second novel, and worked on my first (still incomplete) novel. I joined a local writing group. I attended two writing conferences. I established a web presence, at the urging of an agent, an editor, and several published authors that I met through the conferences.
And now I look forward to 2006. What are my goals? In no particular order:
To finish Tangled Innocence.
To polish Denim & Diamonds.
To polish Queen's Revenge.
To self-publish Denim & Diamonds (as of now - so I can show up at my 20th class reunion and say - I've got a book published. Shallow, I know).
To query 10 agents on Denim & Diamonds.
To query 20 agents on Queen's Revenge.
